No Tools, No Worries

Colleen, the awesome leader of Engineers Without Borders Case Local Projects, recently came up with a Facebook status on yesterday’s farm trip that sums up my thoughts, exactly:

Oh man. Best farm trip ever: “Well, due to our tool shortage, we don’t have a pick-axe. What we do have, however, is Urvi with a hoe.” Local Projects, ftw!

Sun.  Solar panel.  Concrete-mixing.  Breaking stony ground.  Joy!

Whenever I come back from an EWB-Cameroon meeting, I feel invigorated because I know I just spent the last few hours being awesomely productive.

I think this is the best engineering organization I have ever joined. It is a wonderful team engineering effort that will (I hope) truly benefit a community in need. I feel like I have boundless energy, even though I spent the last two hours discussing building mathematical models for a solar-powered well system.
